The operation of a landfill is an ongoing construction project.
At any given time the Authority will be operating an active cell. It will also be in some stage of planning or building a new cell or closing an existing cell. To achieve this our planning takes into account immediate, short term and long term goals.
The Authority is a New York State public benefit corporation created in 1988 pursuant to the Act. In addition to the solid waste disposal landfill described herein, the Authority owns and operates three transfer stations within the County at Malone, Lake Clear and Tupper Lake.
